Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

does a cat bypass, not a muffler bypass, make the car any louder??

POST 2Original post

i just put them on my cayenne s and the answer is yes...more throaty and more depth and mid range accelleration.....

POST 3Original post

Yes, with better HP increase than mufflers. Gains are marginal at best, though.

POST 4Original post

how does it affect your bottom end... are you getting more mid range accel at the expense of low end torque? what about top end?

POST 5Original post

i find my cayenne about the same...not much power diference although i have been told 10hp is hard to detect on a big 6000 lb suv...very peppy in tip and first gear all the way thru...

POST 6Original post

yeah 10 hp is not enough on a car truck, to be felt, on a motorcycle though---------- im looking for some cat bypass pipes myself

POST 8Original post

just did a search for cat bypass, and didnt check all the post dates. ~~~but thanks to your reply to mine, i will bump it again. haha

POST 9Original post

yes, however, only do one, cat or muffler, too much torque loss otherwise.
