Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I posted on here about a month ago about checking out a Boxster S and a 964 and someone recommeded to me that I check out an earlier 996. So I started looking around and found this.. http://www.sportauto.us/02_inventory...oupe/index.htm I like the zenith blue and from what I understand not many were made with that color.. What do ya'll think? It's kind of near Greensboro so I was thinking of having the PPI done at Foriegn Cars Italia there? Any recommendations on the car or another shop near there to have a PPI done? Anyone dealt with Sport Auto? I did some research on ferrari chat and the lambo forums and apparently the place is pretty legit and the owner used to own foriegn cars italia. It seems like they do most of their business in Ferraris and Lambos and the dealership is part of Carolina Lamborghini. To me a ferrari and lambo dealership would be pretty legit, but there are not so honest people everywhere..so.. Thanks, any input will be greatly appreciated

POST 2Original post

I think that was me who suggested a 996! Looks like a pretty solid 996 from the pics!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, I think it was..lol..thanks man..

POST 4Original post

My pleasure! Get the PPI and see how it goes, Zenith blue is sharp.

POST 5Original post

Sport Auto is very legit. They are also a bit pricey. I have looked at that specific car. Did not buy it as it seemed a bit below the normal quality of cars they have... and the Zenith Blue did not thrill me in person. Looking at the photos online just now I think they have put some money in some cosmetics and a good detail. And they have come down significantly on the price! IIRC the car is a consignment. It has been there since at least October when I saw it.

POST 6Original post

I bought my 996 in the Greensboro area back in January. I had my PPI done at SpeedWerks [phone removed]). They seemed to really know their stuff and were highly recommended. They were able to give me a good explanation of everything. It cost about $300 but I think it was well worth it. When I went to pick the car up the PO recommended that I would check out Sport Auto but I really didn't have time.

POST 7Original post

Nice looking car! Looks like a decent price also.

POST 8Original post

I think they are legit I almost bought a Fcar from them a few years ago.

POST 10Original post

Some good stuff in that car, 3 spoke steering wheel, Xenons, Aluma-look brake & Shifter, Supple/Full leather.... nice!

POST 11Original post

Pull the trigger...as mentioned, it already has some decent options.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the input guys.. It has all the options that I've been looking for, so it's def. looking pretty good to me.. I get off my boat tomorrow and gotta go out of town this weekend so I'm heading down there next week to check it out and get the PPI done.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well..it got sold before I could get off the boat and go check it out..lol.. The search continues...

POST 17Original post

I had a neighbor in Maine who did that in the Gulf and off of Africa for a number of years.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Off the coast of Africa? Did he work for Crowley? I have a couple friends that work for Crowley and tow rigs from the Gulf to the west coast of Africa..
