Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 04 40th came sans Bose logo on the driver's side door. I ordered a replacement from the dealer - $14.00. Maybe I have OCD, but I like things symetrical. Would other people have done the same thing, or am I crazy?

POST 2Original post

Knowing that others would do the same thing does not preclude you from being crazy.

POST 3Original post

Not only are you crazy.... you're f*cking crazy! Awe hell, I probably would have done the same thing!

POST 6Original post

Would'nt it be cheaper to buy it from a Bose outlet than a Porsche dealer? I also saw some on ebay for $6.50 (4pieces). I know I'm dirt cheap

POST 7Original post

What's the part number? One of my Bose logos has been damaged...

POST 9Original post

You are not crazy for ordering the part. You are certifiably crazy for asking our opinion.

POST 11Original post

The symmetrical thing doesn't make you crazy, the wanting the Bose logo on anything you own is what makes you crazy.

Exactly my thought, I prefer the stealth look. If I'm going to advertise for a company they should pay ME, not the other way 'round. If I ever order a new Porsche I'll get the model designation delete option.

True, but a year ago the Bose logo would have spent at least 6 months in your garage waiting to be installed!

Now the tough part - I just picked it up. I have to figure out how to install it. I don't know if the door card has to come off, or just a dab of superglue. Anyone ever see behind the speaker grill? Is there something that retains the piece in place? Thanks

I believe the logo piece attaches to a metal piece/clip from behind the speaker grill. I lost one of the logos too, but only found the metal clip inside the door panel when I opened up the door panel one day. Took me a while to figure out where the metal clip belonged to. A quick and lazy way for you would be to glue it on, but just make sure you pry the other side off and glue it on as well to ensure symmetry!
