Thinking about a 996..

I seem to be a moving target at the moment. My '01 Boxster has been "hit" three times in the last 6 months. Something on the freeway put a hole in my front bumper, someone backed into me while I was stationary in traffic and then last week a piece of wood hit my mirror and broke it during a storm. They come in three's I'm told but at this point skepticism is driving me to the point of this thread. I�m in the market for a 996. I love the Boxster's soft top but I�m not convinced about the 996 conv. lines. It�s always looked better in Carrera form in my opinion. I have a budget of around $55-60k mark. Is a �03 C4S out of my bracket? �02? Should I go with a C2 with better credentials? Thanks.

You might be able to pick up a 02 C4S which was the first year within your budget.

02's should be around 60 give or take. The tade value on the 02 is around 52ish (dependson which stealer is trying to take it). I love my C4S

Based on my experience last month I think you could get an '04 C2 with few options for not much more than $60k and perhaps less depending on how motivated the dealer is and how hard nosed you are.

Andrew - No idea where you are located, but I have an 03 C2 (Lapis Blue, Grey leather, 18" sport classic II's plus 17" rims with snow tires, etc.) that I will likely be selling shortly. Just crossed 10k miles. I'm in the Boston area. Let me know if you have any interest. Its within your budget.
