Hi Looking to add to my garage, have owned P-cars for about 9 years now and currently have 964 Cab and 1966 912. Now the 996 cab, its a beautiful car. I will be buying from Germany as I have in the past. I live in the UK. Are the turbo bodied cars I have seen factory or are they kits, are there both around and how can I tell them apart. Are there any nice to have things I should look for, ie upgrades, suspension, engine mods, exterior mods, what years offer best value vs built quality and engine power. I am not looking to buy for another year but like to start doing my research early so I know the exact car and spec I am looking for. Also I like to keep an eye on prices and get a feel for them. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Porsche came out with a 996 Turbo Cabriolet and TurboS Cabriolet last year. (I think they only make the TurboS Cabriolet now.)
Hi I was more interested in the 996 model, would most probably be looking at a late 90's car, soory may be I did not put this in my original post, but I do not want a turbo, but a turbo bodied version of the 996 cab. The turbo is way out of my price range be it hard or soft top. Thks Rob 91 964 Cab 66 912 Coupe Jersey, UK
I think you are looking for a C4S cab don't think they came out until 2001?
The C4S cab is the car you speak of but it didn't come out in the US until 2003 or 2004 (I think 2004). So late 90's is out of the question for a factory turbo look cab. 99 was the first year of the 996 in the US.
98 for RoW.
As stated earlier, if you want the widebody cabriolet, you will have to go with a Carrera 4S cab. These are not cheap, by the way The only other Turbo bodied cabs were in the 964 series and the 3.2 of the late 80s. The 993 series didn't have a turbo bodied cabriolet at all. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing!
Hi Guys Thanks for the input, as I will be buying from Germany so Dell's comment that ROW was 1998 is what I was looking for. I have seen a couple of 99's that is what made me ask, trying to figure out what is factory and what is not. So ROW is 1998. Thks Rob 91 964 Cab 66 912 Coupe Jersey, UK
