Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know if it would hurt anything to hotwire the starter switch that's attached to the clutch in a continuous on position in order to be able to start the car without actually sitting down in the car and depressing the clutch to the floor? Is that switch employed for any reason other than starter discontinuity, i.e. engine computer-type stuff that would be thrown off by having it in a constant circuit?? Thanks in advance for the help.

POST 2Original post

Easy way to do this is to put a zip tie on the switch. I did this years ago and have never had any problems. It is also easily reverseable.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
