Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone. I'm a new and proud owner of a '02 Targa in seal gray with gray interior. I flew from SEA to So. Cal to pick up this fantastic car with 36K miles and the 1k drive back to SEA was a great way to learn about the car.... This forum looks like its like a great place for all things Porsche, and I'm looking forward to spending my time on the board. Cheers- John in 206

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, all for the complements. @ ivangene, would def. appreciate any recommendations as my previous shop (car tender) for my M does not focus on P cars...

Give Chris Powell at Chris's German Auto a call (or whoever answers) these guys are the only shop around who have rebuild M96's and know the insides of these cars as well as they know 356's and 911's Chris is Member of PCA National Technical Committee - its a NO B.S. type of shop. no affiliation just really trust these guys and have seen how eager they are to learn the inner working of the M96 (when other shops shy away from them) 425. 462. 9296 http://www.chrisgerman.com/ If you tell them Ed Mitchell sent you they give me a free cookie when I go in (but then again, anyone can have a cookie if they want)

Nice car! Love that color! I went from 1990 911 (964) to 2002 M3 to 1996 911 and have never looked back. There's something about driving a porsche.

POST 18Original post

Beautiful car! I went from an E36 M3 to a 996, but I kept the M3 . Both fantastic cars, and I deeply love my bimmer, but there's nothing like a Porsche. Welcome aboard!

POST 20Original post

hi - this place has a wealth of information. welcome and enjoy. i like the gray too!

POST 22Original post

Nothing like a Targa. I had one, too. Loved it. Drove it all over hill and dale with the roof back. That was the first thing I did whenever I got into it. If they made a TT in Targa form, I would have bought one of those. Never realize how teeny a sunroof is until you move over from a Targa, and slide that postage stamp hole in the roof open. Looks like a great car, drive it in the best of health, and welcome to the insanity. larry

POST 23Original post

Nice looking Targa! You will find the rear window hatch makes the car much more useable day to day.
