Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello Everyone, First post. Let's see how badly I get bashed since I did do a search, yet it failed to produce results. When I hit the Central Locking switch on my dash, the little red light pops on, but my doors don't lock. Any ideas? 2001 C4

POST 2Original post

They're locked, but you can open them from the inside.

Wouldn't he still hear the clunk as they lock? So is it clunking or not?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not clunking and not locking. Still only takes one pull of the handle to open the door after hitting that switch. I'm hoping it's not expensive, the wife hates the cost of repairs on my car.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, remote locking from the key does work to at least lock the car up. Being unable to lock the car while driving can be a tad scary in some Chicagoland neighborhoods though.

POST 7Original post

You can pull out the horse shoe console and pop the switch out. Pull all three wires. The left and right wires are use to activate the locking command. Have those two wires contact to see if the locking mechanism work. That to find out if the switch is bad.
