Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

wholesale 50, retail 60
I think turbo951fan's numbers are pretty good ballpark. I think you would be in mid-fifties for a private sale to the right buyer--Targas are fairly unique compared to cabs, so you'd have to find Targa seeking buyers. The gloom and doom pricers will say lower, but I think that's pretty close for a car in top notch condition from a private sale.
Timing and how fast you want to sell it are key. I had a friend who took five months to sell his '00 996. He got lots of low ball offers that were below KBB wholesale, but eventually he found a buyer who was interested in his car and he was able to get the KBB private sale price. He found the whole experience quite frustrating but in the end he got over $8K more than what the dealer was going to offer him. Bottom line is that unless you get lucky, you aren't going to get top dollar quickly. In order to establish a realistic wholesale value for your car, I'd take it to at least two Porsche dealers and ask them what they are willing to pay for your car. With a little luck, you should be able to get at least 15% more the dealers are willing to give you. Good luck.
