18,627 cars of the 911 model for a problem stemming "from the welding weaknesses in the structure holding the exhaust pipe in place. The joints may break as a result, leading to the clapping noise in the exhaust area and the possibility the exhaust pipe may eventually fall off." Nice. The company knows of 30 cases so far. The recall impacts 911 carreras bult between April 2004 and Oct 2005. Thankfully, I have a 2000 996. My only worry is RMS, cam drips, or Bob's feared hold in the engine core.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

btw, if anyone ever finds the chunks of metal from the core of my engine that the internal rod blasted through, hit me up.. was thinking about bronzing them, to show my love and faith in the porsche marque.. <g>
