Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Instead of leaving it on the floor, and worrying about kids and strollers rolling over it, I finally moved an outlet and mounted the Porsche battery conditioner in the garage. Now, I drop the charge wire down from the ceiling above the car, and into a slightly opened window. No kids can get at it, and it's there whenever I need it.

POST 2Original post

Great idea by keeping it up and out of the way. Don't forget that you're 'plugged in' when you start up your 911 later this winter, and decide to rock your car frontwards and backroards. (ask me how I know)

Thanks (fixed the thread title too)!

POST 7Original post

if the ignition is off the cigarette lighter is inactive, so how does the charger work without the key in the ignition?

POST 8Original post

One of the guys on the 997 forum put his into the cabinet in front of his car, and then put the plug through the baseboard of the cabinets. On the car he put a cigarette plug in on the front of the car near the front air intake. When he starts the car up, and begins to back it up, viola! The plug is pulled and he's on his way! Very slick!

This reminds me of the time my wife drove down the street with 30ft of orange extension cord and a timer attached to the block heater of her Mercedes Diesel.

that is awesome ! i'm sure its worth the price of the cord and timer just to be able to to tell that story

POST 12Original post

It made one hell of a noise when she pulled out of the garage.
