Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am almost finished with the installation of a Kenwood DNX-9140. I really liked the feature I had with the Becker head unit of music continuing to play after removing the key until I opened the door. I would have thought that this worked off of a switch triggered by the opening of a door - but I seem to have lost this feature with the new install. Have others experienced the same with an aftermarket head unit - any solutions? Thanks - J

POST 2Original post

I cant remember but probably yes, it stopped working.

POST 3Original post

I think German stereos stay on and have the ability to be turned on without the key, but all others need the key in the ACC position to work. A feature I already miss, but can live without given the better sound and features of a new HU!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your responses. I am curious as to how this is accomplished (e.g., switch, delay relay, etc.) - it would be wonderful if we could recreate the delay - Jeremy
