Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I want to post a custom avatar, when i tried to upload my file from my 'my documents' and entered, the following error message popped-up " The upload file is not a valid GIF, JPG, PNG file. Please ensure that it is and try again." My file did end with .......JPG.htm, so I assume it is a JPG file. Thanx.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a different problem now, the file format is fixed, but the image is too big, i havn't tried to make it smaller yet. If I have problems i'll post again

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, the max. size for an avatar is 19.5 kb (300*400 pixels) mine is 30.2 kb (640*420 pixels), any ideas how to shrink the size in windowsXP, thanx.

POST 4Original post

I think you can open it in Microsoft paint. There, you should be able to resave at a different size/resolution. MS Paint is most likely on your computer or on the Windows OS disk. Or if you have software that came with a digital camera, that will work. Right click on the image, you most likely will see a prompt "Open With" select -drowse for program. Uncheck "always use this program" something like that.

POST 6Original post

Post the pic you want as an avatar on this thread, and I'll fix it and post it for you, then you can use it.

POST 7Original post

Jeeva, This is a really handy, free Msft tool that will let you right click on the image file and resize it. http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ertoySetup.exe

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My original post was almost a year ago, it's been brought back to life...thanks for the help, but I had figured it by now, I am not that slow

POST 9Original post

LOL!! I thought you were looking at doing a new avatar. Didn't see the date.
