I don't know the answer to your question. I am curious to why your car is in Germany and how did you get it there. I would love to ship my car to europe and drive it around there for a few months,maybe store it there and return later to continue touring.

I cannot get into the DME to Flash it Error "Incorrect Security Access" FVD Tuning is handling the problem and all that was needed was the DME and they are located in Germany. I do like your idea though.

Mother: Here is a link (with English) to a Porsche dealer that is well regarded in my area: http://www.porsche-essen.de/portal/loader.php - there are various independent service shops that have similar capabilities, depending on location. Maurice: Shipping (Roll on - Roll off) runs about $1,100 each way depending on insurance value if you deliver to port of departure/ pick up at port of destination. You can drive here with your U.S. plates for 6 months during one year...but, temporary insurance, i.e. ADAC is only offered for liability and costs 105 Euros per month. Unheated garage rental outside of major cities is generally available for about 40 Euros per month. Hope this is useful - send PM if you need further - I'll be in Germany through late July, back and forth thereafter.
