Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, If you have X74 suspension set up, could you please post picture of your car? PCA tech had warned me that they have reports of cracked engines 'cause this set up is too low. Is it really that low? 1.5"(40mm) in front and 1"(30mm) in the rear right? I'm planning to lower my 02Coupe. Thank you much.

POST 2Original post

Mike, check out the photo in my avatar...the only scraping I et is with my front lip and my tailpipe when exiting my steep driveway. I've had the set up for 9 months and love it. I do track the car a bit and it makes a huge difference. Very stable and balanced...

POST 3Original post

Your '02 model shouldn't have a problem. The cracked engine issue, to the extens it exists, was in the '99 and and perhaps '00 (when lowered). Some pics: [IMG]http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/0[IMG]

<The cracked engine issue, to the extens it exists, was in the '99 and and perhaps '00> Why was this? Did those cars have different ground clearance? I'm weighing M030 vs. x74 on an 02 C4 Cab and would like to understand the risks as best I can.

POST 5Original post

PCA tech had warned me that they have reports of cracked engines 'cause this set up is too low. that can happen w/ any lowered car. for cheap insurance get the skid plate. '99s had exposed bolt heads fo the oil sump. a direct hit could crack the block. it was cured with '00 and newer cars like yours.

Guys, thanks for the pictures of your very nicely set up suspension. Your ride heights look awesome! I'm still torn between X74 and PSS-9s
