Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

This is the best way I know of to make it into the dog house... Sold the 996 on Sun. so the wife is happy again.... Robert

POST 3Original post

Love to see this kind of side by side pics what about a short report about those two "beasts" J.Seven

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Short report, comparo of 996 to 997..... 996 was dialed in on the suspension....A bit rough for everyday though. It was my first so I will aleays have a soft spot for it. 996 feels much smaller inside and looks much smaller next to the 997. The 996 3.4l has to be up over 4-5k rpm's before you fell some quickness. The 997 is much faster, seat of the pants, and sport chrono is a must! Sport chrono is awesome and you really can see a difference... 997 is much more comfortable inside and standard seats are great for me...5"10 180lbs....The 997 handles great and i have not even done a new alignment which is coming soon...Short shift was in and is smooth but precise compared to the 997 standard shifter which is very loose.... Gotta get back to work will say more once I get more seat time in the 997....

I like that, someone referring to the cars as sexy......

POST 7Original post

I drove the Carrera S and that feels punchy compared to the 996 3.4, but the non-S 997... I found it to be a marginal improvement in speed. Regardless, congrats and enjoy!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Trust me the 997 in sport mode is very punchy compared to the 3.4l.....The S is even more so, I drove it also but with out sport chrono....with it it is awesome i am sure.

POST 9Original post

very nice to see the two next to each other! for comparison and nostalgia sake

POST 10Original post

Hey Tom, Nostalgia... that is exactly what goes through my mind every now and then... so much time working on my car, so many miles and track days... there is a big chunk of me in that car... Then... I floor the throttle on my GT3, hell-toe to downshift for the turn and I forget ALL about it... I am such a car *****... this THE one though...

POST 11Original post

Oh, I forgot to say... CONGRATULATIONS Robert... that is a SWEET ride...

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
