Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What is an acceptable price on a new C4s tip with moderate options? Can anyone chime in with some approximate prices paid? Thanks, Chuck

I have an '03 C4S with a manual transmission. The base price of the car was $82k. With all of the options, the sticker price on my car was $89k. In July of 2003, I got about $7,000 off sticker. Since the new 997s are coming out soon, people have said that Porsche is offering dealer incentives on 996s. Since it is the summer, when dealerships give their best prices and since the new 997s are coming out, I'd look for a five figure number off of the sticker price, say $10-15 k. The tiptronic, I think is an extra $3, so the sticker price of the car should be anywhere from $85-95 k - $10-15 k for the summer/end of 996 discount means, in my humble opinion, that you'll pay anywhere from $70-80 k for a new C4S with tiptronic. Let us know how it works out.

POST 5Original post

If you can get 4 to 6 % off list , youre pretty lucky.

POST 6Original post

I think you can do better. If you take the normal dealer mark up of 12-13% and add the latest factory incentive of around 4.5%, the dealers are working from a 16-17% markup.

POST 7Original post

sjsharks 4.5% incentive to dealer, is this true? This is the first I have heard of this. Can you confirm ?

POST 8Original post

I guess those of you getting $10k off of MSRP on a 04 C4S must be buying from an area where there is competition between dealers. Out here in the middle of the pacific, we've got one dealer and it would be considered a good deal or even an honor to get $1k off of MSRP on a 04 C4S.

For what it's worth, and I know that this isn't exactly the car you had in mind, but my local dealership just sold a 2004 C4S Cab for about $11,000 off sticker on ebay. Here's the link if interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
