Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought occured to me: instead of SC'ing my car, it might be better to up the displacement and go with other tuning options so as to ensure a certain amount of reliability. Is it possible to up the displacement from say 3.4L to 3.6 or 3.8? What would be the pro's and cons of this. Would there be significant performance gains or would an sc still be the better choice for big power?

POST 2Original post

would be better to SC or swap for a 3.6 better reliability and cheaper both. or trade up.

POST 3Original post

There are very few people opening up the 996 engine to include Porsche dealerships. I've seen some advertisements offering displacement modifications for the 996 engine, but I've not read any independent tests of these engines. Let the buyer beware! I'd go with a SC.
