Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently took my turbo bumper and sideskirts in to a local Chevy body shop that was highly referred to me. They said that all in all, to prep, sand, coat, paint, fit and install (maybe not in that exact order) would be around $2100. Any thoughts? Is this too expensive? Too cheap? I was expecting it to be around half of that (since they told me $750 over the phone!!!) but then again I have never done anything like this before to any of my cars. ??? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

POST 2Original post

$750 sounds more reasonable to me for just skirts and bumper. Get more quotes...

POST 3Original post

Should be right around 1,000 or so. Shops are slow these days so you should have some room to negotiate...good luck

POST 4Original post

Find someone who does Porsches regularly. Don't ask me how I know so very well. Also, put the rear wing on at the same time if you are going with a front lip

POST 5Original post

chevy body shop? if it does exotics the price would be right... no way in hell i'd pay 2.7k for that work.... new items need a lot of attention to prep and fit especially if it's aftermarket. make sure it's a reputable shop that does this caliber of cars...

POST 6Original post

I agree that price is high. Depending on the quality of the shop you should expect to pay somewhere between $1000-$1300max I just paid around $600 for my spoiler repainting. If I remember correctly it was $800 for my front bumper and a few hundred more for the side skirts - these numbers are all from a Porsche body shop at my local dealer.

Alright just as I was thinking - appreciate all the comments and will take it elsewhere

POST 8Original post

for front bumper refresh only (prep, sand and paint), i was quoted $2K from dawydiak, i thought it was steep

POST 9Original post

paid $1200 for skirts, wing, front bumper.... with special paint mind you. Installed it myself though.

Good point - my numbers were for paint only - install would add a few hundred more per component... I paid $150 each for the spoiler and side skirts installing. The bumper I did myself in a couple of hours.

POST 11Original post

I am actually having a turbo bumper, sideskirts, and a Misha wing painted for a little bit over $1000 right now (will install myself). The shop is well known around my area and does work for the most reputable porsche indie around here too. Definitely take it somewhere else!

POST 12Original post

Paid 1700 for Aerokit install, Bumper, Skirts and wing, that included matching the paint perfectly, not just painting the parts and slapping them on.
