Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As I was removing my air vents for a fix of the carbon fiber warp, I noticed that my glove box light stays on all the time ... I can't see ant 'ergo' switch to press to see if that is the problem, what hardware part is supposed to switch the light on and off ?

POST 4Original post

wait, are you sure it not like the refrigerator light....it only "seems" to always be on....have you climbed in and closed the door ?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I never knew it was always on, but when I removed the passenger air outlet, then I could see inside the dashboard, with the glovebox closed, and there is was, a light coming out from the glovebox / cubbybox / manual box / passenger drawer

POST 6Original post

The little man that turns it on and off must be on vacation or dead???

POST 7Original post

Okay, I'm just taking a WAG at this because the problem cannot be duplicated on my '99. Once inside the car, close the door. Now, how long before the digital readouts on the dash gauges go completely off? Did other lights go off at approximately the same time? Did the light under the dash go out evenutally? It often takes several minutes for many of the lights to go out. Some may not go out until you actually close and LOCK the doors. If you lock the doors with your key, while still inside the car, be prepared for a surprise.

I had the same problem - you have to remove the golve box - the microswitch is part of the wiring harnes to the light on the left side of the glovebox
