Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On the pre 02 cars, the bumperettes were black rubber, and they were easy to remove. On the 02 and above cars, the bumperettes are covered by a hard plastic shell that snaps on with various tabs. Anybody have any tips on how to pop these out without tearing up the bumper or the hard shells? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Hey TD, as far as i know these have to come off from behind....maybe removal of the bumper..

POST 3Original post

The newer version has tabs around the entire hard shell cap. If you press on the tabs slightly as you pull, it comes right off. Underneath the clamshell is another unit that is welded to the bumper assembly through the bumper cover. We paint these hard shells all the time (when damaged).
