Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now that I've got your attention, I'm having a bit of a problem maybe you've already solved for yourself. Seems like it should be a common enough problem. It seems that all of the charger plugs that I use are loose in the dashboard aux or lighter socket (not sure what the proper way to refer to it is). This was all okay until I just bought one of those GPS stands that plugs directly into the socket and the darn thing keeps falling out because it's a bit heavier and has the weight displaced from the fulcrum. Is the diameter of the socket something european that isn't fitting my (US) chargers perfectly? Or is a spring loose? (though I see know evidence for that). If you've seen or addressed this issue in your 996 I'd sure appreciate your direction. I thought I'd just wrap some electrical tape around the charger to fatten it up, but I can't see how to do that without covering up the contacts. Any help appreciated!

I have this type of problem in the 993 not the 987. Pull out the metal prongs on the charger a little bit to tighten it up. Another option it to look for a different/better GPS mount. I have one the clips to the AC/Heat vents. I used this web site: http://www.mountguys.com/

There are tons of posts on this. Yes, it's a wierd size, and it can be replaced. It's tricky to get out, so read up on it. Search is your friend.
