Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've done a search through the forums and have been unable, as of yet, to locate what I'm looking for: I need the console rear extender piece for my MY99 996 C2. I know the part number is 996 552 127 00 A11 (black leather piece). This I found, but the price I've seen ranges from 350-410 bucks, which I'd like to avoid if at all possible. Is there a less expensive plastic alternative? I'm wondering if the piece that comes with the console delete kit is cheaper/plastic. Is there a 986 xxx xxx xx piece that would fit, or is it completely different on the Boxster? If anyone has any leads on either a good price on the leather piece, or a suitable plastic alternative please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated. PS Love the car (new to me), Love the boards.

Contact Sunset Imports in Oregon, or Suncoast in FL for the best prices for a new piece. You could also try some of the salvage yards, but be careful.

I ended up finding one at oklahomaforeign.com. In great condition, only $40 bucks. Fits perfectly. Thanks for the tips on Sunset Imports and Suncoast. Liceman
