About to install the EVOMS airbox on my 40th Ann 996 and I have one quick question that's been bugging me. There is a hose called the "Sucking Jet Pumps hose". IT's the lower arrow on the diagram. What does it do and how come it's not needed on the new airbox? Cheers and a good long week-end to all...assuming you have one coming up

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sorry guy, I don't have this "pumps hose" on mine...... Have you double checked yours? -Eli
Me neither.
That's my problem....most peole don't have it ????? Maybe it has to do with the power pack that is on the 40th Ann. At this point I would just like to know what it does before I disconnect it.
Pull it off and plug it, if the car wont idle or start, then it is necessary and we go back to the drawing board....
We usually send out printed instructions with the intake but Nate@EVO told me they've posted the PDF document online here. http://www.evoms.com/996%20Installat...structions.pdf Hope that helps!
Honestly, I'm not sure, but it probably does have something to do with the x51. I'd personally forego the airbox and not mess with your factory kit/settings.
Is your car a Tip?
Yes mine is but it also runs 10s: It's here: http://www.akkuratpgi.com/galleries/?gallery=sharky And if your car is a Tip you do need to specify when ordering one of these intakes (there's another piece to it).
I thought the sucking jet pump hose had to do with a tip tranny. BTW sharkster--damn nice car!
It does indeed- that's the difference between the 996 intakes Tips have to have the extra parts obviously..... Thanks on the comments! It's making it's way between Arizona and LA so I miss it. We're in the Bay Area and hopefully it'll come back soon For now there's a nice EVO 997 Supercharged Car that sits in its place....
How come my 40th Ann. which is NOT tiptronic has that ??????
And you wonder why people give you a hard time when you call yourself a tuner?
Sharkster, please explain. Why a tip on a car like that??
FWIW, I saw that on a '04 C4S with a six speed and x51, probably related.
