Greetings... As the owner of a 2004 Cayenne S, I am not necessarily new to Porsche, but the recent acquisition of a 2002 996tt w/X50 package probably makes membership into the Porsche family a bit more relevant. Great car that is completely different in character from it's stablemate, an 86 Mondial 3.2 QV. With only 15K on the ticker, I declined buying an extended warranty...but now find that it suffers from 2nd gear pop out (guess that is what can happen when a purchase is more of an impulse buy than a fully researched one). From my brief search here, it doesn't appear to be a big deal.....something best left to the dealer to fix? A few pics...... Brock

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

sweet mother - WOW!!! welcome! pics of stablemate!
Stunning example, use her in good health and best wishes.......sure looks amazing!
Congratulations! Very nice find.
Welcome! I think you'll really like the 911, especially the Turbo. Sorry to hear about the trans issue. Does it pop out when accelerating real hard in 2nd? It's one of the few things that can happen to these cars. There is a band aid DIY stronger detent spring fix, but trans removal and disassembly is required for repair. Let us know what the dealer says regarding a fix for this.
Congratulations, Nice turbo love the color.
love it... How bad is the pop out? Maybe you should try this first and see it it helps.... https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...orial-diy.html
Very nice and congrats on the addition.
Just seeing that car out on the road could make a radar trap operator choke on their doughnut! Wow.
FACT: Anyone that owns a Cayenne and a 996 is a douche! Welcome to the club. There has to be at least 6 of us now. Oh, if only mine was a red turbo.
nice X50 ! droooool......
Score!! Beautiful example of an awesome P-car. Best of luck avoiding tix in your home town- unfortunately Golden hasn't been too good to me and I drive thru 3-4x per week.
Damn nice ride! Looks good in red.
Was never a big fan of red, but this makes me reconsider Beautiful. And only 15K on the clock!
Congrats! Really beautiful, wouldn't have thought tan interior would look that good against red. Really nice combo, and turbo!

Thanks for the welcome, it is great to be part of a active list such as this! Nick, the issue with 2nd gear is very inconsistent and I need to pay more attention to when it actually occurs but my sense right now is that it is more likely to happen during transition from throttle on to throttle off. It seems to pop out in a subtle way...not as a hard action, if that makes sense. I will watch it more closely and figure out the circumstances. Now, on to ivangene's request......enjoy Brock
Hmmm, now there's a dilemma I'd love to have... Enjoy!
Nice photography on the 911 - shows the car's lines and overall design beautifully. I'm drooling.

Beautiful in red...both cars are stunning. I'd personally favor the '02 Turbo .
