Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Had the center console out of the car last week while installing a B&M Short Shift Kit (Love it!), and noticed an unused electrical connector behind the removable panel at the bottom of the console, under the storage shelf. Drivers side... Any suggestions as to what this is for? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

1. Ejector seat plug-in? 2. After market smoke screen switch? 3. Traffic rocket launcher?

POST 3Original post

It's the alarm switch for the lockable glove compartment.

POST 4Original post

That is the phone prep connector. +12 volts unswitched (red/green) +12 volts switched (green/black) Ground (brown wire) Telephone Mute Signal (yellow/black wire)

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Loren. That may come in handy now that WA is passing the no cell handsets while driving law. I put a Parrot in my Acura, and it works great. The rocket launcher would have been more fun, though...

Oops, I was thinking of the wrong connector. Is this phone prep connector on the 2000 Carreras? I don't remember seeing it when I had my center console out.

I remember that one time when someone thought those were real and wanted to know where you bought them.

Yes, same connector on a MY2000 Carrera. Sometimes it get pushed further back towards the firewall - but it is there on all US/Canada cars.

Very interesting. Thanks for the info. Loren.

POST 11Original post

Tim That's correct. The ejector seat goes to the passenger side
