Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

At $86K, is this a good deal? Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT Thanks

POST 2Original post

If you can get a brand new C4S cab at $86K, then I think you're sitting pretty. Sure, the 997 is coming out in a few months, but you're going to have to wait much longer than that for a (1) 997 cab and a (2) 997 C4S, not to say anything of a (3) 997 C4S cab. I just made a deal on an '04 C4S coupe for $85K that was pretty loaded, and I feel pretty happy about it. Even with the 997 coming out, the widebodies are not being discounted a huge amount because it will be awhile before the 997 widebodies come out. Like I said, if you can walk away with this car for $86K, you've done extremely well, I think. I hate supple leather seats, though (but I know most people either like or are indifferent to them).

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If I may ask, what was the MSRP on your C4S? Thanks

POST 4Original post

The MSRP was a little more than $92K. So, all told, the discount was about $7K. I shopped around, and this was the best deal I could find. The C4S coupe has been around since '02, but the C4S cab is new in '04. Thus, I think discounts on the coupe are going to be better than on the cab. I have to think that the MSRP on that cab on ebay must be close to $100K, if not more. To get that car at a $14K discount is so good, it's almost spooky. Of course, this is all assuming that the bidding stops--and the dealer accepts--$86K. If so, I think it is an amazing, amazing deal.

POST 5Original post

The buy-it-now price is 93K which is what I would expect. Anything less than that would be a really good deal.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is not a "buy it now" option like you see on other e-Bay auctions, however, it does state you can buy it for around $94K. There is no reserve on the bid, so I wonder if the seller my retract his offer. We shall see. Thanks

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do you think that they will cancel tke auction or accept my bid?

POST 8Original post

My friend just bought an 02 c4s-slvr/blk w/ 1300 mi. for 69k on e-bay!!! He received the car and it passed inspection, like showroom condition... Now thats a deal over a new one thats going to drop the minute you drive off the lot! i have been watching these for some time now in the LA/ San Diego area and i would urge you to look for an 02 or 03 with under 5000 miles on them...they are out there!!! Robert

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks...but I would like a cab.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do you guys think that this is a legit auction?

POST 11Original post

its legit, perhaps he just put no-reserve to get more bids. seeing as how the buy it now is 94 anything lower than that, and he may not accept your bid, which he can do, probably not worth it to go to court.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It wouldn't be worth the hassle to go to court, but might 86 them from e-Bay.

POST 14Original post

I recently walked away from a chance to buy a 04 C4S cab from a local dealer for $88K. The sticker was 96K. Deals can be had on cabs here.

POST 15Original post

The listing will no doubt be "sold locally" if the price does hit their "reserve" and the auction will be cancelled. Just watch it. Then the car will still be available locally when "the deal feel thru" BUT you should call the dealer and talk price and ask what price will end the auction ( their option). Commonly done on ebay. Of course the other option is for another bidder to jack the price up (shil) and then "the buyer never contacts them and is thrown off ebay and the car resurfaces next week, etc Good luck.
