Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I purchased an 02 C4 cab with the navigation system and it didn't have the CD I needed (or any CD for that matter), so I ordered it from NAVTEQ. Well that was almost a complete waste of money. The PCM is very outdated compared to the nav system in my Acura MDX. The Acura system has a touch screen and is very user friendly. I guess I have been spoiled with the new and better technology. I sure hope that Porshce has improved with the PCM II unit because the PCM I is the like the cell phone that used to be the size of a suitcase. I know, it's about performance not the stereo and electronics. Well Porsche better get their act together if they plan to sell a $180,000 Panamera luxo-barge-rocket because those customers will expect more in the luxury/electronics area as well.

POST 2Original post

Like you say........don't have high gadget/gear/electronic or audio expectations. BTW........AMG MB, same year, had a fairly similer system.......so Porsche was not alone.

POST 3Original post

not related navigation but just wonder how much you paid for your 02 C4 Cab. Currently looking for 02~03 Cab so it would be help. thanks.

POST 4Original post

The PCM hardware is designed/built by Becker (to Porsche specifications) and the detail/quality of the NAVTEC CD's is again determined by the amount of money Porsche (PAG) decides to spend on the 'Porsche' database. Currently, a PCM2 (actually it's PCM2.5, as PCM3 won't debut until MY2008) will give the same amount of nav data/info, as again, it is determined by the 'Porsche' NAVTEC database.
