Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In the new Performance Products catalog on page 43 they are advertising a BillyBoat exhaust and header package claiming an increase of 31 Rear Wheel HP. WTF, is this true or what and can anyone verify it? If this is true, forget about PSE. Bobby

POST 2Original post

Highly unlikely, I would want to see the dyno sheets.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The funny thing is that they have a dyno sheet in the bottom corner of the ad showing stock and with teh B&B exhaust. PerfProducts is reputable so that is why I find this so interesting. Bobby

POST 5Original post

Any small print about ECU reprogramming? It sounds like hogwash to me... DJ has a good point. Ask for a guarantee and see how the offer stands up.

POST 6Original post

I have had a B&B Tri-flo on my M5 for 3.5 years. It has a great sound, really announces that a 400 HP V-8 has arrived in the 'hood. On the matter of horsepower, I just ignore all claims of HP gains for all bolt on devices. I have yet to be disappointed by this approach. Steve 99 996 00 M5

POST 7Original post

Second the emotion........I have the B&B exhaust and it sounds better, but I would be quite surprised if there was any more HP as a result of having it installed. Mind you, I don't have the headers........which may make some difference......... I like the tail pipes though..........maybe not for everyone.....

POST 9Original post

Unless a manufacturer provides a number of before/after dyno runs they're just blowing smoke.

POST 10Original post

I put on the GHL and feel that it seems to rev easier from 5500-6700 but i doubt any more than 5 HP. Talking to brian at GHL they said they don't see hardley any gains in exhaust. About 15HP with bouth headers and mufflers. I even find that optomistic. I talked to Steve at Rennsports and he believe there really is no gain in the exhaust at all. His suggestion is the to chip the 99-01 cars any of the 02 on wont gain any in the computer. If you want HP go with a Super Charger.

POST 11Original post

I don't know if they have it still up, but Fabspeed had a B&B exhaust broken down and cut up on their website, and it is eye opening to say the least.
