The 996 has grown on me and I am at this moment looking for an opportunity that fits my budget. I am looking for a 2002 or later. I have understood that the RMS seems to be an issue that is not as widespread as it looks (maybe I just want to see it that way...) but it still a concern and will most certainly make me buy with extended warantee. I wonder if the X51 (345 hp powerkit) makes the engine less prone to RMS failures? Thanks for help Jan

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
