Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm looking for a 996 C4 coupe in the $50k's. I've got the dealer down to $55900 for this car. I was wondering what you guys thought about the deal. Good deal? Bad deal? So so? Any suggestions? here's the info: The car

POST 2Original post

Plus you will still have some original warranty remaining. 996 C4 coupes are rare. We are not quite as rare as the Targa but still rare by comparision to C4 Cabs and C2's.

POST 3Original post

55 thousand is a good deal, hes right. You will certainly not find any 996 for less than 52 thousand, and still being decent. The only one I've seen was a C2 996 at 40, 500, which I was looking at before I got my G35 and it surely isn't worth it in the long run. But, if you must have a 911 and want it to be a 996 model, 55 thousand isn't a bad asking price.

POST 4Original post

rbarna, Here are a couple questions to better assist everyone with a price evaluation. What year is the car? what options does the car have? Mileage? Is the car certified? I just bought a 2000 C4 coupe with 11,500 miles for 56k, with porsche certification. The car is loaded. I understand the single most important determining factor is mileage. A newer car can be worth as much or less than an older car with less miles. Options, other than aerokit, don't affect sale price all that much. Make sure you find the one you want with the options you want. Be patience!! Keep us updated and best of luck. Pat

POST 5Original post

Oops! Sorry, just saw the link on your post. If the car is certifed it's a good/great price. You can haggle over a couple hundred of bucks but don't lose the car over it. Good luck. Pat

POST 6Original post

rbarna, If the car is NOT certified, see if they WILL certify it. Even if it cost a few hundred for them to do it, it will be worth it. That or look into an extended warranty (~2k). Either way, if its a 2000, then you have precious little warranty left, unless your in-service date was pretty late in the 2000 (that would be a good thing to find out from them, if they don't tell ya, get a carfax). Good luck... PS Once you get it, buy white side marker lights

POST 7Original post

I think it's decent, not a steal. I would definitely make certification a major point. Also ask for all records and see what was done with the car.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks so much for your advice! I spoke with them and it is certified. What are your thoughts on this car: the silver one Same price, also certified... just more options.

POST 9Original post

Wait off til next year when the new 997 comes out. 996's will be dirt cheap then if you ask me. I'd go for a new 997 over a 996 personally. The 997 is supposed to be a raw and traditional Porsche 911. Heres hoping anyway. Just my opinion.

POST 12Original post

In my opinion the silver car is the way to go. Silver supposedly is a more popular color than black. Plus, it's easier to keep clean. I have a black C4 with with full leather, it's very nice. I would take the options over the color any day of the week. Just make sure you don't pay what they're asking, negotiate. Remember, they have TWO 2000 C4's on the lot. Have them make you a deal on one of them. Be patient and they will. Let us know which one you get.

POST 13Original post

You've got the right. No more black cars fom me EVER!
