Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

this might be a stupid question, but why don't porsche 996 turbos have boost guages? Are they like other Turbo charged cars with Blow Off Valves and Turbo's or is it some different type of Turbocharger system? I'm looking for a 996 TT or GT2 and trying to understand the turbo system before buying one. I currently drive a 2000 Porsche 911 C2 Thanks for any insight. Nick Nick

POST 2Original post

996 Turbos do have a boost indicator, it is built into the OBC display. If you have any questions, Kevin or Steve in the 996Turbo forum are experts on these vehicle's engines.

POST 4Original post

As Lewis says, the digital gage can be seen at least two places when selected via the operating lever for the OBC. Grabbed a shot from the Turbo forum:
