Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Can't go wrong at $500 bucks
Why don't you just PM Imre? You got 10 good responses from 10 other people on the crosslink who own 928's already and presumably have a clue what they are talking about...don't really need to clutter up this board with another unrelated thread.
He also has a 928 and I value his opinion. Cant PM him.
My PM doesn't work anymore? That's new. I saw your post on the 928 forum. Most of what was said I agree. First try to find out if it's a 5-speed and why was it parked. Looking at the few pics, it could be worth fixing but not sure about a full restoration. My 928 is rough looking but I like that. Most people look at it and have no idea what's under the hood. Has the acceleration of a 969TT and that's good enough for me. That '85 you saw is the same year as mine, has a 32V engine but you need to find out a bit more.
^What is a 969TT?
Steve......the 969 is the version with the motor on the wrong end. Also have to agree with Walter.......and one more.....from the pics within the attached thread, the pics appear to be taken from a police car. KK....you a Buford T. Justice?
Sorry for the typo, I'm in my phone. 996TT.

If you have never seen him, you have NO idea!!!!!!
It was his wifes car before they married. I dont remember why she parked it. After the mess from another thread derailment is cleaned up, I would still be willing to inquire about the car if anyone is interested.
I remember when I lived in Germany I found an abandoned Porsche 914 that I lusted after. I eventually tracked down the owner and found that 3rd gear on it was broken. I still wanted it but my dad talked me out of inheriting a potentially expensive problem. It still would have been fun though!

Who needs 3rd, just rev it to redline in 2nd, then straight to 4th and hopefully 5th until it runs out of breath. 3rd gear is for pansies! :-)
Walter, you must have at least 500 posts before you can insult me or derail the thread any further. (see TOS rule 127 subsection b)
This thread was off the rails before it even started... :-)
I had a Renault 11 that only had 1,3,5. Had to rev it a little higher than jormal but not to redline. Drove it like that for years. Had no reverse either.
