Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got my SSK kit from Eric@bumperplugs along with a polar silver center and rear consoles. Last weekend I installed the center console and this weekend I did the rear console and the SSK kit. I love it! Install was pretty easy to do, just took my time doing it. Thought I'd share the pics Here is the before pic: Here is the during pic: Here is the SSK Installed: Here is the center console with all the trim bits transferred: And this is the finished product. Looks awesome!

POST 2Original post

The upper horseshoe and the center console look GREAT! Eric really does a good job on that stuff. How do you like the SSK? Thanks for sharing the pics.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have only played with it in the garage with the engine off, I really liked the way it felt. I was with the kids while doing this project and could not go drive it later. I'll take it to work monday and post impressions.

POST 4Original post

It really looks nice, matches the inerior well. I think I will install the ssk this summer, how long did it take?

POST 5Original post

DOn - It took me 2 to 2.5 hours the first time, but I took my time reading the instructions very carefully. Almost half of that time will be spent removing then reinstalling the rear center console. Now that I have done it once, it would probably take 1.5 hours to do the whole process. It is a great mod, and well worth the money for the SSK and time spent to install it.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don, it took me about 2.5 hours, but I had a 4 year old with me that slowed things down. Also, it takes longer to swap center consoles than just install the SSK since you have to swap a lot of clips and bits of trim, the door and key mechanism from the old console to the new. This is the picture of the naked console: You can see it with all the trim in the post above where it sits on the garbage can. The instructions with the B&M are excellent, much better than the instructions that just came with the console, so there really is no way to go wrong I think.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yeah thanks Eric, your products rock! I'll try to send back the core exchange tomorrow. btw, I'm seriously thinking of ding the GT3 console delete mod, but have heated seats. Do you know if there are extension cables for the switches so I could put them near the ashtray?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

as an update, I've been able to drive the car for 2 days now with the SSK. What a great mod! I can't believe I sat on the fence for so long. You definitely need more force to shift, but you are rewarded with precise, metallic "clicks". the throws are much reduced. It's odd, but it really transforms the car, it gives me the sense of driving a much performance oriented vehicle in terms of qualitative feel.

POST 13Original post

Looks good! I autocrossed with my ssk a couple weeks ago myself, and it is absolutely the way to go.
