Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I don't believe this question has been addressed in the archives. I just purchased a beautiful '03 C4S (no pics yet, as still awaiting delivery). It has PCMII but unfortunately has the HIFI sound and not have the BOSE system. I would like to keep the stock dash look of the PCM, but I'm certain that I'll find the sound system lacking. Are there any other MOST amplifiers that will allow an upgrade to hook up a sub and better speakers, other than Porsche OEM? At this point, I'm thinking of purchasing a BOSE MOST amplifier, subwoofer and speaker set and hooking this up to the stock PCMII. Feasible? There are probaby a quite a few folks who have dumped their BOSE systems for aftermarket upgrades, so this setup will probably not be too hard to find. Rgds, Ryan

I don't believe that there are MOST system componets out there that will plug/play into your Pcar just yet. It's either all or nothing. You can still keep the stock look and go with the aftermarket stuff that will look reasonably stock yet classy. There are tons of options if you go with a complete rip out. Here is my setup. (The Kenwood Nav is night and day better from PCM)

Save your money.....the Bose top of the line system for these cars sucks!!! I'm in the music business, and listen for a living.....at best, it's background music.

It would be reletively easy to do what you want. Buy the OEM bose system on ebay. the original equipment will all snap into place. Make sure the amplifer comes with the original cable to plug into the back of the PCM2. Then you will need to have your dealer program the pcm to recognize the bose system. It should be very easy. I just added PCM2 to my bose stereo and it was a snap, plug, reprogram.
