Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I'm new to the Renlist and have just registered after lurking this board for the last week. I'm about to get back to owning a Porsche again after a couple of years absence. My first P-Car was a 2000 Boxster and the car I'm about to buy is a 2001 911 C2, well optioned with 7K miles for a very decent price from the original owner. The question I have is if I choose to buy an extended warranty does anyone have experience/recommendations of who might be any good in the US? One of my concerns is that some of these extended warranties don't often cover gaskets and seals (the dreaded RMS?) so it might be a better bet to invest the $3K and pay out of pocket when needed. I typically to the basic maintenance myself but would probably have some work done at my local dealer to maintain a good relationship which might help later. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will post pics in a couple of weeks once she's in her new home. Thanks, Poe
