Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 99 996 that is silver. I can not decide if I want the GT3 (black) or the Turbo wheels in Black. You guys have any suggestions or pics?

POST 2Original post

neither, keep it stock silver, go for the turbo wheels they look a lot better.

POST 3Original post

I just cant get into the black either- I dont know why I dont care for it- I am seeing more and more- Lke the turbo look as well IMO

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any one have some pics of the turbo wheels on a Silver NB?

POST 5Original post

Are you talking about 996 or 997 Turbo wheels? Either way, I like the GT3 wheels better.

POST 6Original post

I would do round wheels...I tried squares and ovals, but that really negatively influences the driving characteristics of your P.

POST 8Original post

Do what you like, not other people. Here are two threads that might give you some ideas: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/300588-post-pics-of-your-rims.html https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/207454-show-us-your-996-a.html Cheers,

POST 11Original post

them gt3 wheels look like a flower and in all black it looks like they belong on a utility truck delivering flowers.

POST 13Original post

The spirit of the GT3 wheels are a return to the original fuchs that have been a trademark/landmark in design for Porsche. They happen to look great on Chads car as well.

POST 15Original post

I hated black at first but it has really grown on me.

Another thought is you can go to your local wheel refinisher and see what they have on display. Grab a couple of the wheels and put them beside your car and see what you think in terms of color. Try silver, gloss black, flat black, black with polished lips, etc. I did this with a "black chrome" wheel and loved the look so I had my GT3 wheels custom painted. Black barrels, darker "black chrome" paint in the center and fading out to lighter around the lips. A splash of speed yellow for the GT3 script to match my calipers and they were done. Now I have the fastest flower delivery car in the area. Good luck! Cheers,

POST 20Original post

Oh yea, the flower wheel, good one. Do you have any shots of your wheels that are stationary? Beautiful car!

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I like the look of the Black GT3 wheels, maybe Chad can let me borrow his for a couple of weeks to see how I like them. Alan please post pics of your wheel while they are not in motion. Thanks to all

POST 22Original post

GT3 wheels in black, end of story. If Ben disagrees, you know you are going in the right direction.

POST 23Original post

This is a first, I agree with Ben. God did I just say that.

POST 24Original post

GT3 would be my choice. I think the color depends on the color of the car. I think the black would go good with my yellow paint.

I would not put anything "Turbo" on a non-Turbo car, so if you HAD to pick one it would be the GT3...but neither one appeals to me for your car. Is there a reason why you narrowed it down to just these two options?

What's wrong...not warm enough to show off the wife beater????:

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just like these 2 wheels. I used to have some Kinesis super cups and I loved those but I thought that they may make the car look older. ie from the 80's and 90's.

POST 28Original post

for my money, doesn't get any better than ...
