Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I completed the replacement of my coolant tank and the replacement of my polyrib belt on Saturday. First, the removal and replacement of the polyrib belt is the easiest DIY I have ever done (ok may be slightly more involved than the clear side markers but not my much). Second, removal of the old coolant tank was a royal PITA. I have never been so frustrated working on a car. I did get it out but not after having to take a break to refocus on what I was doing. Getting the new tank in took me a of the time it took me to get the old one out and really wasn't that difficult. Then it was a matter of just hooking everything up again which was not difficult at all. A couple of notes for those doing this in the future. 1. Removal of the coolant sensor is easier before removing the tank from the bracket. 2. Remove the secondary air pump (takes all of 30 more seconds) it gives you much room to work with. 3. When you drain the coolant it comes out with great force and can make a huge messthe deeper the collection pan the better. 4. Getting the tank into the bracket is easy dont be intimidated by that aspect. In the end I got the job done and it was very satisfying. Next weekendspark plugs and fuel filter and my 60(k) service will be done.

POST 2Original post

Good to know you did it. Not sure about 01 but on 02+ the fuel filter is integrated with gas tank and never replaced.
