Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I was wondering if a turbo bumper would fit on a 99-01 without the 2002 front upgrade

POST 2Original post

No, it requires different lights and fenders than a 99-01. I think there might be some Turbo look knock offs but not sure of their quality.

POST 3Original post

I ordered the "Mashaw" one a while ago. The body shop decided against installing it. Both fit and quality issues. It will be sent back this week.

POST 4Original post

I have been considering the same thing for my '99. I did a search and found these after-market shops that make Turbo/C4S bumpers that are made to fit pre-facelift 996. But as mentioned above, I don't know about their quality. Anybody have any experience with these guys? http://www.nrauto.com/sub_index.asp?...&spage=Bodykit http://www.mashaw.com/html/product_info.html http://www.precisionporsche.com/ftbumper.html http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/p...oducts_id/8092

You can try some custom bumpers. Like this one on eBay. This is a fibreglass (more rigid) bumper NOT a polyurethane bumper (more "soft"/flexible). The OEM is polyurethane. I'm putting on the same fibreglass bumper as above on my 99 C2 996 (actually a C4S bumper = turbo bumper + C4S lower lip, which I think looks better). Should have the car back sometime this week. Check this thread out. Hope that helps
