Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am about to indulge myslef with my first ever Porsche. For a long time I wanted a 97/98 993 C4S ot TT, but I don't want to deal with too much maintenance and the pricing for low mileage ones have gotten out of hand. I am now considering the purchase of a 04 C4S Cab with very low miles, but this RMS thing has got me spooked. Obviously, I am getting a PPI, but is there any way to tell if the seal is going to be a problem, maybe a more comprehensive PPI? I certainly don't mind paying for one if that sort of thing can be determined. I understand that these are "performance" cars and the is an inherent risk, but I want my first Porsche experience to be everything I thought it would be...incredible. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Haven't seen a Porsche that doesn't leak oil at some point. At the end of the day it's just a seal...
