Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hope I'm just being hyper-vigilant, but I sometimes feel a very slight and almost imperceptible skip or miss when shifting around 3000 rpm and driving easy, Car has new coils and plugs. Is this normal and I'm just being a perfectionist? Car runs great and has strong acceleration.

POST 3Original post

variocam. after about 5 years you'll hardly notice it.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, I guess I can quit worrying about this and find something else to worry about. Right? BUT...is it normal?

POST 6Original post

it is normal. for a 996. none of my other cars do it :-)

POST 9Original post

Depends on the year. MK I vario-cam comes in about 5,500rpm. MkII Vario-Cam Plus -- 3,000.

POST 10Original post

POST 11Original post

I have had my car for about 20k miles now and I still notice it at low-mid speed.
