Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just to stir the pot a bit. Something occurred to me the other day. There has been a lot of emphasis here regarding the N-spec tires and them possibly having a stronger sidewall than the same tire that is not N-spec to meet the requirements of a Porsche caring 60% of it's weight over the rear tires. However this only accounts for the Carrera. How about the boxster with 50/50 weight distribution? How about all the previous front engine/ rear drive Porsches? I'm sure they don't have special weight issues. Is there any analytical evidence that shows the N-spec tire is different in design or build from a non N-spec? Discuss amongst yourselves.

POST 2Original post

Actually, there is... I believe SharkWerks posted it on 6speed.

POST 3Original post

The Boxster weight distribution is actually about 45/55. It's also harder on the rears than the fronts (although not to the same degree as the 911).

POST 4Original post

splittin hairs - sure if you have a tire ps2s N-spec or non-N just go for the N really more for peace of mind or whatever...

POST 5Original post

Already beaten to death: N rating Tire Rack And for a comparison: N rated comparison

POST 6Original post

^^ I said Shark Werks but it was Damon @ TireRack who did the comparison. That's the thread I was thinking of from 6speed.
