I'm considering buying a '99 996 Cabrio w/ the standard rims & tires but I live in Manhattan and will be doing most of my driving in the city and North NJ. Has anybody experienced repeated problems with the rims bending from day-to-day driving on less-than-average roads? If so, any solutions to the problem? thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You shouldn't have any problems, but with any low profile tires it is always prudent to avoid potholes when possible.
DC roads are a mess right now since winter is over and you have to be careful about avoiding beach ball size potholes. Other than that I've never had a problem and never bent a rim.
