I can't help but look back and remember the fun we had. The sound of her engine screaming with glee. Her familiar 911 dashboard. The sultry curves on her body. Oh, her hips were to die for. I remember the bath's I gave her; lots of lather and cool water. Toweling her off ever so gently. I would gaze at her voluptuous body endlessly. Loading her up on Mobil 1; feeding her nothing but high octane. When the going was slow and she got hot, I'd pull over and let her cool off. Only to tickle her throttle when the time was right. Oh, her hips were to die for.......... I'm almost in tears as I write this corny prose. No kidding. She was special to me. So special, I may even be swayed. Have any of you ever strayed or been tempted to? Is there one in your past you want to ga back to?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. i miss a few of them - but make do i guess. Time for a 993 to join the party :
My 996 is "my 993" I guess, because she is my first P-car.
I went back to a 993 after having moved up to a 996 and it was a good experience. That being said, now that I've got a 996 Targa, I'd never go back to an older generation car. The 3L6 996 is such a weapon. So useable when you're not in a hurry and simply unbeatable when you are. I just couldn't live without that practicability now.
elsiesvg "AMEN BROTHER" !
Stan if you miss her that much start looking for another one...Both the 993 and 996 are great, just very different cars comfort, looks, and otherwise [of which you are already aware]. I have driven both and had the opp to buy out my lease on the 2001 996 for $38K [had 60K miles on it], but I chose to buy the 993 at the same price [with 31K miles]. I use mine as daily transport and have not looked back since.... Both cars are great, but if it is really pulling at your heartstrings, start looking around for one and if you find a great deal, buy it and don't look back
Owning a 993 can be hell. When you're lookin at it, you wish you were driving it -- when you're driving it, you wish you were lookin at it...
This thread brought back memories of my long gone 964, but I know I will be back in a 964 sometimes in the future...
Dan V hit it right on the head, I had a 1998 3x Black Cab. I average 1250-1500 miles a month on my 996 while the 993 was about 600. I also have a M3 Cab and is much easier to drive the commute with until I got my 996, which I hop in more often now than my 993. But when I had my 993, I always liked the look better. The cure for this will be a 997S Cab or 997 C4S cab in 2 years.
I have the best of both world's, a 996 in Hong Kong and a 993 in UK. But I really miss that old 928 GTS.
I miss my 993 S from time to time - especially the engine screeeeeeaaaammmm. The dashboard was very 911 and the car was probably more involving to drive than the 996. Would I go back? Not as a daily. Going for a 997 4S next year most certainly.... and get the hips!
I did the round trip with my 993 Targa. I traded it for a 996 (coupe/tip) which I hated and sold after three months. I only bought the tip because my wife wanted to drive it, too, and I suppose I should have known that automatic transmissions don't work for me. After looking for a used 993 Targa, I found a nice one because, like Stan, I missed those hips. Sorry to say, sometimes going back turns out to be a mistake. The roof rattled worse than my earlier Targa, and the interior was a lot more spartan than the 996. After a while it had to go. I waited 4 years until the C4S cab came out, and now I have that wide butt back and love every minute. When the 997 4S Targa shows up, I know I'll be tempted again...
Wish we could have one of each in the garage..........I really loved my dads 928S when i was 16...now that engine roared like hell..............
