for those of you who installed harnesses in your 996 and did a bolt in installation, im looking for pics for how you mounted the sub belts and lap belts. specifically the sub belt and lap belts on the inside of the seat. one more question: i hear that the bolt threads for seat belt locations are a standard size, so any bolt kit i get from a race shop should fit my porsche? or are the sizes different cause its a german car? thanks Robert

FWIW, here's a pic of the tunnel side. The hole of the BK bracket made for a tight fit for both the Schroth lap and sub belt, that's why there's a turn-buckle. All the bolts from the BK brackets were an exact fit on the C4S. Don't know if they're "standard". As I said before, I don't use this anymore. Follow at your own risk. I have all the hardware boxed, awaiting the time that I go with the proper GT3 seats and roll bar.
did you have to remove the seats to access that bolt? i looked and its a real tight fit - i could get a wrench in there but not a socket. is that turn buckle a racing piece or like those mounting climbing thingys?
LOL!! I did go to a sports store first to look for those "mountain climbing thingys". Found some nice fancy ones, but this one I got from Lowes. That's actually a turnbuckle meant for a chain link, with like a 10,000 lb test. You can lift the whole car and several others all together with that turnbuckle. I don't remember if I took the seat out or not. Anyway, it's quite easy to take the seat out. Just 4 Torx bolts.
lol! thanks for the advice - hadn't seen one of those things on a harness setup, looks like a good idea, i might try that. before i strip any wires....i have the factory sport seats - the back is electric but the sliders are not. do i have to unplug anything before removing the seats? also, from the looks of your setup, you just sit on the subbelts like you're wearing a climbing harness, right? i guess thats where my thinking was headed when i said climing
I have the power seats with heat. Everything lifts off when you unbolt the seat. So long as you don't actually take the seat out of the car, the wires should be long enough to move the seat to give you access to anything you want. Remember what I said, though. I don't use this set-up anymore, and I'm not recommending it.
