Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So Phil told me that his C4S is being put on a truck today to be shipped to it's new owner. ...so a car that has never been driven is not being driven to the new owner, so that it can not be driven in a different state? Any photos of the departure Phil?

POST 2Original post

I bet the new owner is having it "delivered" 2 miles away from Phil's house THEN driving it home so the PO is left feeling happy, warm and fuzzy you know - good Karma

POST 3Original post

Why is Phil selling it? He wants to get a lower mileage car?

He caught the "notdrivingit" virus from his brother and his psychiatrist encouraged the degeneration of the disease so that he could charge more for each session. Phil is now in the process of selecting other vehicles to purchase and not drive.

POST 5Original post

Phil not driving the C4S is like being married to Catheryn Zeta-Jones and not tapping her...... EVER! What a waste!

POST 6Original post

Is it really sold or just leased to someone with a limit of 500 miles per year?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I love it! Even that number is too high!

Fixed that for you. Andreas

POST 10Original post

Poor Phil... But we really do need pics of the car being shipped off to put final closure to the garage queen saga.

POST 14Original post

So, the big question is whats Phil's new garage planter is going to be?

I love it! Careful, he might fall off that! I was wondering where the pics were... I'll havew to give him grief... maybe that's why he's not here - the grief has set in and he now realizes his mistake... he can't type because he can't see through the tears. I love it! Nah, that's left over from his last winter storage.

The car's still at my home. Shipper is less than "Reliable" (Transport that is). Scheduled to go out this weekend to Michigan. And from my discussions with the new owner, he may be as nuts as I am. This is going to be one unhappy Porsche. Problem is they're calling for heavy rain tomorrow in Philly - could be the first time my car's ever been wet (other than 3-4 washes). BTW, you guys are brutal. Just brutal.

Tim, you're close. I'm seriously wanting a motorcycle. Death wish. If the wife threatens divorce, I'll have to settle for another sports car not to drive.

POST 21Original post

Phil, is the BMW 328 the replacement for your 996? Love the new 3-series coupes. The lines are just perfect, I think.

POST 22Original post

the best of both world Phil its a motorcycle, a sports car AND it never needs to leave home

Your wife is very smart! I like 4 wheels under me and a steel (plastic) cage around me when I travel. From a safety issue, the ONLY good thing about the Honda is that it doesn't go fast enough to get me killed. Maimed maybe, but not killed!

POST 24Original post

yup... its not you... its the "other guy" we dont want to see you hurt (phsyicaly )

POST 25Original post

I was involved in a Motorcycle accident a couple of years back, when I was on my way home from a Triumph club meeting on a beautiful mid-September evening. A 22 year old female driving a pre-airbag BMW (drunk and who know what else(my opinion not verified)...) aimed straight at me going at least 65mph (determined by the police) on a 40mph road. Luckily I noticed her headlights exhibiting an erratic pattern coming towards me. I slowed down, however was not able to avoid her since she crossed into my lane as she hit a telephone pole to my right full on. I had the foresight to jump off the bike just seconds before impact (all along I had updated my riding proficiency by taking safety courses and various advanced riding skills clinics). The only injury I sustained was a bruised elbow when the handlebar snapped towards me on impact and I was in the process of jumping off. She sustained severe head trauma, a broken leg, broken ribs, various deep lacerations etc. she was in the Hospital for a month, and unfortunately she was also un-insured. At the trial she simply said that she did not recall ever hitting me. If I had been in a car, I am convinced my injuries would have been more severe since I probably would not have been as proactively alert as when I ride a bike.

No car deserves to be treated this way.

POST 27Original post

awe Phil..... you sure you want another motorcycle.... thats a scary story ! glad you were OK and didnt get hurt - Lord know how little you would have driven your car had you been hurt (sorry couldnt resist)

After the "How not to change lanes" video, I think I want a go kart instead of a cycle. I still think that riding my road bike (Cannondale) at 25-35mph downhill with only a bike helmet on is more dangerous than a motorcycle. My wife and I bike at least every other day. She's doing a 60 mile run in Killington VT next week for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ride. Me? I'm gonna man the First Aid station!

Phil, you are smarter than I thought! ****ing crazy, but smart!

POST 31Original post

man, not being shipped because of rain.... this is not a good sign. That poor c4s... someone should just put her to sleep. Phil, how can you sleep at night?

Damn right. Hope no one who gets sick or injured is an adult. I don't think I know how to take care of big people. Barely can take care of myself for chrissakes. And the car is still at my home. Seems that the transporter, Reliable Transport (or as I call them "Un-Reliable Transport"), has been promising to pick up the car for over a week, but has an excuse each time they don't show up. Appears that all their trucks are out west transporting cars to and from Pebble Beach. So, the new owner of my car has arranged for another transporter - car's leaving Tuesday afternoon, definite. I'll try to get some pics.
