Noticed today that when I place the car in reverse I am not getting the " beep " sound nor does the distance sensors work. Any idea what this could possibly be? Cheers and safe driving.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

probably a microswitch that tells the car its in reverse, do the reverse lights come on?
?? OK...what are you talking about?...The car "beeps" when in reverse?..Distance sensors?
Perhaps I should have clarified my post. When reverse gear is selected the parking assistant confirms that it is switched on by issuing a short signal tone. I am not getting this tone ? I tried backing up near an obstruction and I got no tones indicating again that the parking assistant is faulty. Is there a fuse that controls all this ? Moogle to answer your question the reverse lights do indeed come one.
A failure of one of the rear Park Assist sensors is usually indicated by a continous beep when the car is put in reverse. Sorry but thats about all i know about that system. If you take it to the dealer make sure to let us know what was wrong. My first guess was the reverse light switch but since you state the reverse lights work, I'm in the dark.
If you get no 1/2 second tone for system readiness then it could be a fuse. The fuse for ParkAssist is B10 (second row 10th fuse from the left).
