Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm thinking of driving from Los Angeles to Vancouver over the Thanksgiving weekend (end of November). What can I expect weather-wise? Would it be okay to make the trip on fairly new Michelin Pilot Sports?

POST 2Original post

You might run into problems in the mountain passes in southern OR and thyen simply on the flats north of seattle near the CA border. I would carry a good set of light duty easy install snowchains and drive very slowly and carefully if you need to put them on. OR often closes the passes to all vehicles without snowchains. Winter tires are really no help in these circumsatnces.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If I stay on the coast (the 101) will it be milder weather? I can't imagine the elevation being very high right there. There's no way I'm putting chains on my wheels. Does it really snow much before January?

POST 4Original post

I have travelled a number of times from Vancouver B.C. to LA on business in November. November tends to be a wet but generlly mild month through the Pacific NorthWest. However, if an Artic outflow comes down low enough you may run into some serious weather ( ie snow ) as far down as Grant's Pass. It can get quite nasty up there. At this pint watch the weather and plan around it. If you simply must make a certain date then travel the coastal highway. There may be snow along that but rarely before mid December. HmmmmI find this Porsceh thing similar to flying....always checking out the weather too! Dean 2001 C$4
