A guy I know at the office-- not really a friend, just a name-- is interested in buying my '04 Cab. It's got 3,200 miles, a few excellent mods (TT front bumper, x74 suspension, B&M short shifter, clear side markers), and the usual factory options (side skirts, 18s, Bose, see signature below). I love the car, but wouldn't mind selling and getting the 997s (who wouldn't???) if I could avoid taking a huge bath. (MSRP plus mods = $92k in March) What's a fair price, i.e., where both he and I get a "good deal"? Thanks. Poor quality pic attached.

theres no such thing as a 'good deal' for both the buyer and the seller however, you can specify a price where both of you will walk out of it feeling... 'not raped' if i'm not mistaken, the car's original MSRP should be around 90, and your additional mods have costed in the neighboorhood of 5k~ EDIT: i see you wrote the MSRP at 92, so i was close to be honest, a fair price would be the low to mid 70s, however if he likes the mods, or doesnt know the difference, the car can be worth up to high 70s low 80s.. if he bites at anything above 80~ you're the winner good luck, just try and prevent it from making the working relationship (if there is such a thing) go sour, that would really make the deal not worth it.
At auction your car would bring around 70K. It would probably end up on a dealers lot for 80-85K and they would be willing to take 75-80. I agree with moogle that low 70s is not a bad number. mid 75-76 would be better for you. Good luck
Me. Very happy with the C4S Cab as is. Prefer the 996 look to the 997 (no flames needed). But after just 3200 miles, I'd keep the 996 if I were in your shoes, and give the 997 a year to at least get the kinks out. And yes, there will be kinks.
Eric, Only a year? It's been 2 for the Cayenne 15 recalls today Wait for the 998
You got that right.
Thanks guys, much appreciated. I'll ask 76-77, and take 73-74. I'll let you know what happens.
Autotrader has new 997's going for 73-74K but you're has mods.
yea but when the 998 comes out, there will be the same 996/997 is better whining, and how there will be 1st year kinks, and how you should wait for the 999. hahaha
2004 PORSCHE 911 CAB CARRERA 2 GREY 2 6C Gas M Y, EW, Lthr, CV 4973 $71,250 This is from a Manheim Auction in Socal on October 14. Hopefully this will give you a price point.
Thanks Flat6. Mine has a bunch of mods, so should [in theory, anyway] be worth more (in practice, who know how people value mods given that they are very personal). The guy actually offered me $72k, but I decide that the 997 wasn't worth the dough that I'd have to add to make up the difference from 72. Thanks.
