Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone, I am not to technical inclined, so excuse me if I ask a silly question. But how is it that a stock 996 with 300hp can out perform others with more hp? 0-60, 0-1/4 mile. What is behind the masterpiece of the Porsche? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

weight and gearing and more important its a porsche Actually 1/4 mile times IMHO are completely overated, if you want to destroy a tranny and clutch in short order there's no better way then dump clutch high rpm starts. That the 996 and 997 are very quick is a testiment to their engineering. But dropping the clutch on most 996's and 997's we'll give you enough wheel hop to make you think twice about doing it again.
